George Carey (1942-2010)

Artist George Carey, who was born on December 8, 1942-died August 6, 2010, was known for his highly detailed realistic artworks.  Carey was a 4th generation Key West native who was known for his internationally sold artworks of the Key West area as well as the Ohio landscape and his final paintings of American Indians.  His artworks sold at yearly shows held in the Keys as well as in exhibitions and numerous galleries over the years.  During his lifetime, George Carey was a national and international artist whose recognition came when Carey was chosen five times as a finalist in the nationally prestigious "Art for the Parks" competition capturing the four "Top 100" awards and "Top Mini 50" award and was three times recognized by the "Mystic Maritime Invitational Marine Art Exhibition" in Mystic, Connecticut.  In the past his artworks have sold between $500 for miniatures to $20,000 on up for larger artworks.  We have 11 paintings for sale in our gallery with provenance.  We are able to sell these individually or as a collection.  Contact us at TwinsArtAntiques@aol.com for additional information on any artworks.
